DANGEROUS GAME:  Water Buffalo bulls weigh 700- 900kg and even up to 1000kg (2200lb).  Water Buffalo can be just as tough and nasty as Cape Buffalo, and the terrain is often thick bush with close encounters.  Our hunters and guides have been charged many times.  Last year a wounded 51" Bull turned and charged, the hunter's brain shot (with 375H&H solid) knocked the Buffalo down 5m from me, we were catching our breath, when about 8 seconds later the Bull quickly moved to raise to his feet again (the first 375 bullet was low and only stunned the bull).  We both reacted and fired, this time Malte's brain shot was perfect, and my H&H 465 Express solid also impacted hard.  The hunter and his partner nervously sat and admired this trophy for some time.  Two excellent bulls in 2 days...
Mid 2011 a wounded Buffalo bull was followed up into thick bush, Greg and I moved slowly with rifles pointed forward and safeties off, I followed the blood trail with only 5-10m vision, suddenly along a game trail was the Buffalo coming fast with his head up.  I jumped to the side and Greg fired at 8m but his shot went high, the bull lowered his head getting ready to hit me and I fired the Holland & Holland double into his head, but he kept coming... I pulled the rifle barrels back down through the smoke of the first shot, I aimed to save my life and fired a 465 Woodleigh solid between the horns which stopped the Bull 4m from us.  What an exciting hunt and an incredible 54" spread old Buffalo with extremely heavy horns all the way to the worn tips.  Only an accurate brain or spine shot with a solid will consistently stop a charging wounded Buffalo.  The extremely tough skin can be 25- 50mm (1- 2") thick around the neck area, and the frontal skull bone of a very old Bull can be 25-50mm (1- 2") thick.  Trophy sizes range from 90-110SCI with many 100-130cm (42-52") wide bulls taken in our concessions.  Make the challenge, come and experience Australia's best wilderness dangerous game hunting.

SAFARI RIFLES:  You can bring your own rifle or use one of ours.  We have 375H&H & 416 Rigby rifles available with quality Ziess optics in QD mounts.  Overseas hunters in the Northern Territory must obtain a Northern Territory Police International Visitors Firearm Licence, so we need to submit the application form as soon as possible.

BOWHUNTING:  Buffalo have excellent smell, eyesight, and hearing.  Bowhunters will appreciate our experience and the variation of terrain.  Medium to light colour camo works well in the Australian bush, and leafy suits are excellent.  Remember this is a thick skinned dangerous game animal equivelant to hunting Cape Buffalo or Hippo, so please come with a +70- 80lb bow and heavy 800-1000grain arrows with strong 2 blade broadheads.  You will never forget being close up on large Buffalo bulls, the amazing stalk, the tension and excitement, the draw, releasing your shot and watching the flight.. !!

BANTENG:  Banteng free range hunts were previously conducted in Coburg National Park and NW Arnhemland.  We can help arrange a hunt, price approx $18,000.   Banteng bulls are much smaller than Buffalo and a nice big game trophy.

ETHICAL HUNTING:  In this modern age, it is often hard to find real hunting.  Imagine a traditional old African hunting safari...  where you will earn your trophies the hard way, hunting on foot and tracking wild game... that is us.  We do not hunt from vehicles, or use ATVs or helicopters.  We do not hunt Buffalo on farms, stations or in coastal swamps.  We are dedicated to real fair chase dangerous game hunting safaris in central Arnhemland, Australia's best.  After a long day, and exciting stalk, when you sit next to your hard earned trophy, you will be very proud of your achievements.

CLASSIC TENTED SAFARI CAMPS:  Our old style Expedition tented safari camps are often moved during the Dry hunting season, to be amongst the best numbers and herds of Buffalo, then removed for the Wet season.  NOTE: We do not have luxury camps with extra staff (like in Tanzania), our wilderness concessions are amongst the most remote in the world, and the hunting is hot, dusty and hard work.  You are in the wild.  The 2x main camps are very comfortable, with large tents, flushing camp toilets, hot canvas bag showers, plus quality snacks, main meals and drinks.  All camps have a lovely location, on a picturesque river or stream, often with herds of Buffalo roaming past!!
Many species of Australian birdlife come in for water near camp, and kookaburras, kingfishers, kites and hawks cruise along the river.  Bring your wife and family to relax in the bush, or experience the Buffalo.  In the evenings, hunters talk of the Aussie outback and their hunting experiences around the campfire and under the stars.

HUNT SEASON & HUNT FLIGHTS:  The best months for Buffalo hunting are June, July, August with temperatures 27-34'C maximum (perfect) and 20-23'C min, then September max can get to 36-40'C.  This is the DRY Season when hunting is at its best and 4wd access is possible in the concessions.  By mid October temps are 38-44'C max, and the tropical WET Season rains are from mid October through to April.  Arnhemland hunts require approx 1 1/2hr charter flights between Darwin and the Hunt Areas.

BARRAMUNDI FISHING:  After your hunting in the Northern Territory you can fish the rivers and billabongs for Barramundi and Saratoga, which are 2 of our renowned fighting fish.  Keen fishermen travel from all over the world to experience Barramundi fishing in the Top End.  Exciting river and ocean Fishing charters are available from Darwin.

DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY:  You will need to fly into the city of Darwin which is a great holiday and tourist area, with quality shops, beaches and the famous Mindil Beach markets.  Bring the family along and take extra time for a visit to Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks, view stunning gorges, billabongs, waterfalls, and see native wildlife such as Kangaroos, Wallaby, Dingo, Goanas, Frilled necked lizards, Crocodiles, and birdlife such as Hawks, Kites, Brolga and Jabiru. 

DEER HUNTS:  International hunters doing Buffalo with us can upgrade their itinerary to include quality Deer hunting.  Free range Deer hunts for excellent trophy Chital (Axis), Red Deer, Javan Rusa Deer, Moluccan Rusa Deer in Queensland and the elusive Sambar Deer in Victoria where a high level of fitness and effort is required.  Note: These hunts are in the best areas, and require travel to one or two other Australian states.  Each species is a seperate wild hunt.  The Javan Rusa hunting area is fantastic, many large WILD heads.  Special Buffalo and Rusa hunt packages are currently available June/July 2012, so book NOW for a most challenging hunt for an increadible trophy.
